Breath-taking landscapes, medieval castles and world's best beer
While millions of travellers visit Prague every year for its charming medieval architecture, not many are aware of the amazing natural beauty and riding options available just over an hour north of the Czech capital.
This is Bohemian Paradise, a place of the most bizarre sandstone rock formations, pine and birch forests, medieval castles and authentic rural communities. A place where tourism has yet to leave a big impression and you can experience authentic local life, whilst riding glorious singletrack.
When you’re not riding you will enjoy delicious Czech food, taste the world’s best beer, paddle a crystal clear Jizera River in a canoe and relax in a tranquil countryside B&B.

Day 0 | Arrival in Prague
We recommend arriving in Prague a day earlier to allow for any baggage or travel delays. Also, you will get a chance to stroll through this lovely city and relax a bit, before your big adventure begins.
Your guide will meet you in our recommended hotel in Prague Downtown the next day in the morning.
Day 1 | Reckon ride
We will depart from Prague to our cozy B&B in the heart of the Bohemian Paradise, right at the foot of the Klokočí sandstone rocks maze. After just over an hour's drive, you will check-in and your guides will help you to get your bike ready, in case you are travelling with your own.
After a light lunch made of local seasonal products, your guides will brief you in detail on what is coming in the next few days! You will have a chance to ask any questions and hear what the week has in store for you.
The rest of the afternoon will be dedicated to a short reckon ride in the back yard of our base to get your first taste of this incredible region. We will dine together and sample some delicious Czech food and beer before calling it a day, in a nearby town’s main square.
Day 2 | First big day in the Bohemian Paradise
On our first full day ride, we are going to cover the amazing Hruba Skala rock labyrinths and the area around. After an initial warmup on a few dirt roads and double tracks, you will climb to the top of the Trosky Castle, a twin-tower ruin of a medieval castle sitting atop two volcanic plugs.
After taking in the scenery from this iconic spot, the day only gets better. Fun trails, fast downhills and tough climbs entertain you during the rest of the day. Oh, we forgot to mention the lunch at the Hruba Skala castle and the amazing lakes! Today is a true classic and already a day to remember as you’re introduced to the views that only get better during the week.
To enjoy our lovely B&B to the fullest, we will have a garden BBQ dinner with local craft beers together.
Day 3 | Malá Skála Rock Labyrinths and award winning dinner
The less castles you get to see today, the more bizarre rock formations you will encounter and some even explore on foot. There will be some punchy climbs during the day but each of them will be rewarded with a real fun downhill.
After a heartily lunch in a historical log cabin you can decide whether you’re in for one more climb to ride a local a king-of-trails or take it easy and finish the day on an even ride along peaceful Jizera river with a chance for a refreshing swim in this crystal clear (and cold) mountain river.
To round up a perfect riding day, we will go out for our dinner. This time we will dine in a nearby award-winning restaurant “Kovarna Frydstejn” serving amazing local meat and vegetarian BBQ specialities.
Day 4 | Day off
It’s a good idea to rest a bit before rolling into the remaining 2 days of riding! Everyone’s idea about a day off is different, though. Some will choose to relax and enjoy the tranquility of our B&B, while others might go on a half day rock climbing course, paddle down the crystal clear Jizera River in a canoe or stroll through the nearby historical city of Turnov.
Your guides will be at your full disposal to plan a perfect rest day for you and will do their best to help you with the logistics.
Day 5 | Great Bohemian Paradise crossing
You will take full advantage of the previous rest day as today is the longest ride of the week as we cross the entire Bohemian Paradise Natural Park from North to South. At the very southern tip of the Natural Park lies the Prachov sandstone rock tower maze that you will be able to explore on foot. Riding there is not an option as your handlebar is too wide to squeeze through some of the amazingly tight rock formations. You will be one more time amazed of how many dramatic rock formations are there to see and explore in the area.
Are you wondering how you get back to your accommodation? After soaking up the atmosphere (and local brews) on a main square of another historical town of Jičín, where your ride finishes, you will jump on a super-scenic 50 minute train ride that will take you back to your B&B.
Day 6 | Ravines of the Kokořínsko area as a goodbye ride
After riding across the Bohemian Paradise from East to west and North to South, you will have a great chance to explore an identically stunning but way less touristy area just half way between your B&B and Prague: Kokořínsko.
After a half day ride in local canyons and ravines, grab your last tasty Czech lunch and beer and your guide will either drop you off at the Prague Airport for your evening flight or to your next accommodation within Prague Downtown.
Eating, drinking and sleeping well is an important part of this biking mission to the Bohemian Paradise. You’ll sample traditional and modern dishes made from the freshest, locally-sourced ingredients in our cozy B&B. You will also get to taste the famous Czech classics such as goulash or “svíčková” when we dine out together.
All breakfasts, dinners, and a welcome lunch are included in the tour price. Expect to pay around 10 - 15 € / day for the 5 lunches not included in the tour price. We will eat together as a group at each mealtime.
Our B&B is a small family-run place with only 17 beds in total. It is clean, comfortable and located in a secluded place right in the heart of the Nature Park. It has a cozy garden to relax after a ride and a simple bar with a local craft beer on tap and a delicious locally roasted coffee. It’s a perfect place to enjoy the natural beauty of the Bohemian Paradise to the fullest, yet close enough to a nearby town so that we can dine out comfortably.
